April 30, 2010 is the dead line for buyers, first-time and repeat, to be udner contract and qualify for the $6,500-$8,000 tax credits. Buyers still have 2 months to close on the transaction, from the end of April. In order to claim this tax credit, that does not have to be repaid, you must purchase a property before the specified deadline and keep the closing documents for your tax preparer.
